Breezy Hartland

It was a calm, peaceful day.. umm did I say peaceful, I meant raging – like an old man trying to send back soup at a deli!
We are considering changing the name of the series to NB Windy River Series, to the brave soul’s who chose to battle the current – I salute you!
It was a successful day, in that almost every participant caught a smallmouth bass, which happened to be the target species of the day. Two gentlemen caught decent smallies and also snagged some trout while they were at it. None bigger than Robert Battis who registered a 15.5” smallmouth, and 18.25” rainbow, launching him into first for the Hartland derby. Followed closely by newcomer Corey Conner, who landed a 16.5” bass and 12.5” trout. John Cail was the only one to get a perch on the day, and took third on the day. Bryan Cawthra reeled in the lunker, an 18” smallmouth, which also propelled him into first place in the overall standings with 53.25 total points registered. John Cail with 50.75 is in second and Wilf Edmond moves to third with 48 points.
Hammond River should provide some movement in the standings, with plenty of species to be found on June 9th! There will be no shortage of prizes to give away as we partner with HRAA next Saturday!
Congrats to Robert Battis for taking home this sweet Plano V Crate valued at $99.00 donated by our great partner Bass Pro Shops – don’t miss out on many more prizes to come June 9th as we partner with Hammond River Angling Association for third event in the series!
